Ingredients:

  • 150 grams of soft tofu
  • Three or four tablespoons of nutritional yeast flakes
  • One tablespoon of agar agar
  • Half cup of water
  • Salt
  • Pepper, herbs and / or spices (optional)

Preparation:

Place tofu in a container, where it should be sprayed with a little salt and add nutritional yeast flakes. This step is essential: the yeast gives a fabulous cheese taste and provides no calories-almost.

Meanwhile, in a saucepan, heat the agar (vegetable gelatine of algae; be replaced with common unflavored gelatin) with the half cup of water.

Or either boil for two minutes. Turn off the heat and mix with the tofu. Process the mixture in a blender until smooth and very creamy.

Place the cheese in a cast and now, if you wish, you can flavor: grains of pepper, fresh oregano, Rosemary, thyme, paprika. The options are endless and according to your taste.

Take it to the refrigerator and let it solidify. Thus, it is ready to be consumed whenever you like.

Nutritional information:

Four tablespoons nutritional yeast flakes provide you about 20 calories. Meanwhile, 150 grams of soft tofu are about 100 calories.

And something important: for every 100 grams of tofu, 8 are proteins. The rest of the ingredients does not provide relevant calories, reason why this whole cheese will bring you about 170 calories.

Why use this Cheese?

While it may not melt too, since its ingredients and that tofu does not acquire such a texture, you can use it for cooking, salads and, basically, for what comes to mind.
